At the start of the 2024 WNBA season, salaries drew significant attention, especially after the announcement of Caitlin Clark's earnings as the top draft pick. However, she wasn't the only player with a surprisingly low base salary. Chicago Sky star Angel Reese revealed her base salary for the 2024 season is $73,439, with a slight increase to $74,909 in 2025, according to Spotrac.

In an Instagram Live video on Wednesday, Reese candidly shared that she is "living beyond her means" and noted that her critics are part of what keeps her financially afloat. "I’m living beyond my means. Hating pays them bills, baby. Just so you know, the WNBA doesn’t cover my expenses at all," she stated, referencing her struggles with rent.

Reese pointed out that she pays $8,000 in rent, joking, "If you thought that WNBA check pays anything... it doesn’t even cover my car note. I wouldn’t even be able to afford a sandwich with that. I can’t even live."

Beyond her WNBA career, Reese is also set to compete in the Unrivaled basketball league alongside other WNBA stars and has launched her own podcast. Additionally, she has secured several endorsement deals with brands like Reebok, Beats by Dre, SI Swimsuit, and Raising Cane’s, which help supplement her income.
