Tyra Banks proves she’s still a top model with her stunning return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after nearly two decades. While she’s made a name for herself as a multi-hyphenate—thanks to acting roles, hosting gigs, and various business ventures—Tyra first rose to fame as a supermodel in the '90s. This year, she stepped back onto the VS runway, marking her first appearance since 2005.

Closing the show in a show-stopping outfit, Tyra reminded everyone of her iconic strut and signature smize. An OG Angel since 1997, she was the first Black model to grace the brand’s catalog and walked in ten consecutive shows before their hiatus. Notably, she wore the intricate Fantasy Bra twice, achieving all this in just eight years.

Ahead of the 2024 show, Tyra shared her thoughts with Harper's Bazaar about her groundbreaking role in promoting diversity within the fashion industry. “It’s interesting because, in terms of diversity, I was diverse. I was considered curvier and a Black girl. At that time, it was significant to see me on covers,” she explained. “I feel like I cracked the door open, and now it’s fully burst open. I’m so excited about that.”

Tyra also highlighted the brand’s recent inclusivity efforts, praising new Angel Paloma Elsesser. Reflecting on a commercial they did together, she said, “Walking with Paloma, who is now bursting through doors, shows the ongoing evolution of beauty and diversity. It’s really exciting.”

One thing is clear: Tyra Banks remains at the top of her game, confidently passing the torch to the next generation of Victoria’s Secret Angels.
