The comedian Eleazar del Valle, 53 years old, better known as Kompa Yaso, passed away after being hospitalized for nearly a week in an induced coma. The dark humor comedian was part of the entertainment shows "Chisme No Like" and "Tengo talento, mucho talento"; his health issues began in November 2022.

Del Valle was also a voice actor and studied Acting and Directing at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 2022, he shared with his fans that he had become seriously ill after contracting COVID-19, which led to pulmonary complications and a severe infection in his liver and kidneys, marking the start of his health decline.

On October 15, 2024, the comedian's niece told the program "De Primera Mano" that Kompa Yaso was intubated following a cerebrovascular event. "Apparently, he had a cerebrovascular event. Right now, he is intubated and sedated. We are waiting for there to be no brain damage. Yes, he is in an induced coma. He has two medications keeping him asleep, and we are waiting for them to be withdrawn to see how he wakes up," she expressed at that time.

Who was Kompa Yaso?

Eleazar del Valle, born in the state of Hidalgo, was a comedian who dedicated much of his life to comedy, theater, and hosting. Although he did not complete his studies in Acting and Directing at UNAM, his passion for humor helped him carve out a name for himself in the Mexican comedy scene. Kompa Yaso was a regular figure on shows like "Chisme No Like" and performed live in various cities across Mexico. In February 2024, he had already been hospitalized for health complications but remained active in his career.

Eleazar del Valle lived a life full of experiences that helped him build the character of Kompa Yaso. In an interview with Mara Patricia Castañeda, the comedian revealed that during his childhood, he lived in Paris due to his father's studies.

There, he attended the first year of primary school before returning to Mexico, where he continued his education at a school that also taught French. Although he initially dreamed of being a soap opera heartthrob, it was comedy that earned him a place in the hearts of the public. "I wanted to be a soap opera star, but the mask turned out better. I always leaned too much toward comedy," he commented. Before achieving fame, he faced numerous challenges.

According to his own words, he once had a business where he engraved names on grains of rice and encapsulated them in necklaces. He also worked as a safety and accident prevention consultant until the opportunity to enter the television world arose in 2018.

The distinctive design of his mask was born from the need to protect his identity.
