Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a new wave of legal challenges, with seven additional civil lawsuits filed against him, including two from individuals who allege they were minors when they were drugged and assaulted. This marks a significant escalation in the ongoing litigation surrounding Combs, as these lawsuits also implicate unnamed celebrities in the alleged incidents.
One notable case involves a plaintiff identified as Jane Doe, who claims she was invited to an afterparty hosted by Combs at the age of 13, where she was subsequently assaulted after consuming a drink. In her lawsuit, Doe recounts being invited to an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000, where she felt drowsy after drinking and sought a place to rest. She alleges that Combs, along with an unnamed male and female celebrity, entered the room where she was lying down.
According to her complaint, the male celebrity assaulted her while Combs and the female celebrity watched, and Combs then assaulted her as well. This lawsuit is part of a broader pattern of allegations against Combs, with many plaintiffs claiming they were drugged during encounters with him. Combs's legal representatives have denied all allegations, asserting their confidence in the facts and the judicial process.
They emphasized that Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone, regardless of age or gender. The latest lawsuits, filed in both federal and state courts, include serious allegations such as rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment, occurring at various parties hosted by Combs from 2000 to 2022. The plaintiffs, who include both men and women, have predominantly claimed they were drugged during these incidents.
In addition to the civil lawsuits, federal prosecutors have accused Combs of running a "criminal enterprise" linked to sex trafficking and other serious offenses. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering and is currently in custody in New York, awaiting trial set for May.
Recently, his attorneys requested that the court issue an order to prevent potential witnesses from making public statements about the allegations, arguing that such comments could interfere with the trial's integrity. The ongoing criminal investigation may lead to further charges or defendants being added to the case.
