Rapper Rich Homie Quan has tragically passed away due to an accidental drug overdose, as confirmed by the Fulton County medical examiner's office in Georgia. The 33-year-old, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died from a combination of substances, including fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine.
Quan was found unresponsive on the floor of his kitchen by his brother, who initially believed he was just sleeping. After noticing Quan's body was cold and he wasn’t breathing, a woman alerted the police. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at an Atlanta hospital on September 5.
Known for hits like "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" and "Type of Way," Quan rose to prominence in the mid-2010s. His collaborative work with artists like Jeezy, Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Birdman solidified his status in hip-hop. His single "Flex" reached No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he released his only studio album, "Rich as in Spirit," in 2018, which included a collaboration with Rick Ross. Quan's influence on the rap scene will be remembered fondly by fans and peers alike.
