A magnitude-3.1 earthquake struck Ontario, California, at 12:56 p.m., causing shaking felt in several communities east of Los Angeles. The quake occurred at a depth of approximately 3.5 miles, with reports of weak to light shaking in Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Upland, Riverside, and surrounding areas.
In the hour following the main quake, several smaller tremors were recorded, ranging from magnitudes of 1.0 to 1.8, centered around Ontario, Corona, and Home Gardens.
