Toei Animation has announced a surprising delay for the One Piece anime's "Egghead" story arc, marking a historic first in its broadcast history. The arc is now set to resume in April 2025, as detailed in a press release and on Eiichiro Oda's staff's X (formerly Twitter) account.
In the meantime, a special-edited version of the "Fishman Island" arc will air, featuring upgraded visuals and audio. This announcement came alongside a variety of One Piece updates on October 13, including exciting scenes from the latest episodes and new content like the trailer for "ONE PIECE FAN LETTER," a spinoff adaptation set after the Sabaody Archipelago.
The delay was revealed by One Piece Media's editor-in-chief Hiroyuki Nakano and series producer Ryuta Koike, who will be present at a special panel at New York Comic Con next week. Fans can continue to watch One Piece on Netflix and Crunchyroll, which streams new episodes shortly after the Japanese broadcast. The series follows Monkey D. Luffy as he pursues his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates and finding the legendary One Piece treasure.
