Nick Jonas abruptly left the stage during his concert in Prague on Tuesday night after a laser was aimed directly at him.
In footage obtained by Fox News Digital, Jonas was seated at the piano when he suddenly stood up, signaling for a "time out" using American Sign Language. He quickly made his way down the stairs and ran through a narrow lane between two barriers of fans. His brothers, Kevin and Joe, followed suit shortly after.
The Jonas Brothers are currently on their "Jonas Brothers World Tour," celebrating their five albums. Additional videos shared on social media captured a laser beam hovering over Jonas' head during the performance. The O2 Arena, the venue for the concert, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the incident was due to a prohibited laser pointer.
A spokesperson stated, "We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by an individual. The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance."
While Joe Jonas has shared several videos on social media since the incident, he has not commented on the scare. Fans expressed their horror online, emphasizing that artists shouldn't have to worry about safety at their shows. One user wrote, "This is terrifying... and could have horrible consequences, so please stop complaining about the artists who have to cancel their shows." Another added, "He’s so scared. This breaks my heart. He’s a father and husband first. People need to be more mindful."
Jonas, who is married to actress Priyanka Chopra and has a two-year-old daughter named Malti Marie, has faced stage mishaps before; he famously fell into a hole during a Boston concert last year but quickly recovered. The Jonas Brothers are scheduled to perform next in Kraków, Poland, on Wednesday night.
