At least 10 people were shot outside Amazura nightclub in Queens late Wednesday night after three to four gunmen opened fire on a group gathered outside the venue. The shooting, which took place around 11 p.m. on 144th Street, has left authorities investigating whether gang violence may be involved. However, officials have confirmed there is no indication of terrorism tied to the attack.

The victims, six women and four men, were part of a crowd outside the nightclub, where a private event was being held upstairs. Around 90 people were inside at the time, attending a memorial for a 16-year-old who had been fatally shot earlier. As the group waited to enter the club, the gunmen, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, approached and unleashed about 30 shots. Fortunately, all of the victims are expected to survive, though none of the suspects have been apprehended.

The NYPD received multiple 911 calls reporting the shooting shortly after 11 p.m. Officers arrived to find the wounded, with the situation quickly becoming a priority investigation. Chief Philip Rivera of the NYPD emphasized the department’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable. "There’s zero tolerance for these senseless shootings," he said at a press conference. "Those responsible will be apprehended and brought to justice."

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, though authorities are exploring the possibility of gang ties. This comes just days after another deadly attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, when a truck plowed into a crowd on Bourbon Street, killing 15 people in what officials believe was an act of terrorism.
