McDonald's Staff to Ignore Drive-Thru Customers
A McDonald's employee recently shared a TikTok video highlighting a common drive-thru behavior that could lead to customers being overlooked. The user, @maccaworkaddict, posted a clip of herself dancing, captioned: "You can't keep ignoring the car in the drive-thru because they screamed hello as soon as they get there."
The employee expressed that saying "hello" upon arrival can be seen as "rude," noting that staff members receive an alert when a car arrives at the intercom, making such greetings unnecessary. While many viewers agreed with her perspective, some took issue with it. She clarified in the comments that her videos are meant to be humorous and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
One commenter, also a drive-thru worker, admitted, "Each time they say hello, I make them wait another 10 seconds lol." A former Burger King employee shared a similar sentiment, expressing frustration when customers yelled as soon as they started their shift. Another user chimed in, stating, "I do this, or I immediately reply, 'Yes, how can I help you? I'm making it known I'm irritated.'"
However, not everyone agrees. One user defended the greeting, saying, "I say hello because I don't know if they know I'm there." The conversation continues as customers and employees share their experiences in the fast-food drive-thru line.
