Chicago rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida on Thursday night. The 32-year-old artist is currently being held at Broward County Jail on pending murder-for-hire charges.
On the same day, five members of his hip-hop collective, Only the Family (OTF), were indicted in Los Angeles for their involvement in a plot to kill rapper Quando Rondo. The federal indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court, names Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.
They face serious charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, and the use of firearms, including a machine gun, in connection with a violent crime.
Rondo, who survived a shooting in Los Angeles two years ago, was targeted due to suspicions linking him to the death of Chicago rapper King Von in 2020. Meanwhile, Lil Durk is also dealing with a lawsuit stemming from the fatal shooting of FBG Duck in 2020, which occurred outside a Gold Coast store.
