Kristin Cavallari Opens Up About Breakup with Mark Estes: A Decision Made with Love
Kristin Cavallari is sharing insights into her recent breakup with Mark Estes, which was confirmed on September 27 after seven months of dating. On the November 1 episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast, the former Laguna Beach star discussed the reasons behind their split.
With a thoughtful sigh, Kristin stated, “Mark and I broke up. It’s hard because I know long-term it’s not right.” She emphasized that the decision was not due to any animosity or infidelity, explaining that “no one cheated” and that Estes had always been “sweet and supportive.”
Reflecting on their relationship, Kristin described Estes as “the best boyfriend I’ve ever had,” but acknowledged the challenges posed by their 13-year age gap. She noted, “He needs to experience life; he’s young, and I’ve been through so much in my own journey.” The age difference, while always on her mind, became more pronounced as she realized he was at a different stage in life.
Cavallari expressed her belief that, despite the split, their relationship was healthy and mature. “He will make someone so happy one day and have a beautiful family of his own,” she predicted. She also expressed optimism that, in time, Estes would appreciate her decision, saying, “I actually think one day he will look back and thank me.”
Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Kristin remains hopeful about maintaining a friendship with Estes. She confirmed she has no current interest in re-entering the dating scene, preferring to focus on her kids and career for now. “I just want to take care of myself,” she said, prioritizing her peace and happiness.
Cavallari’s candid remarks come after a source revealed that the couple had been drifting apart before their breakup, citing the age difference as a contributing factor. However, Kristin maintains a sense of fondness for their time together, saying, “I will forever look back at Mark and I with such fond memories.”
