Tornado Warning Issued for Western Broward County

As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida, a tornado warning has been issued for parts of western Broward County. The storm is expected to make landfall late Wednesday.


Traffic cameras captured footage of a tornado forming near the Alligator Alley toll plaza, as vehicles continued to travel on the road. According to the National Weather Service, this tornado crossed Interstate 95, moving north at speeds of up to 25 mph. A second tornado was reported along the Broward/Collier line.


Areas under the tornado warning include Southwest Ranches, Coral Springs, and all western suburbs of Broward County. Authorities are advising drivers to exit the roadways immediately for safety.


Additionally, a tornado watch has been issued for Central Florida, including South Florida and the Florida Keys, lasting until 9 p.m. as the storm continues to develop.
