Hoda Kotb Bids Farewell to Today Show After 17 Years to Focus on Family

Hoda Kotb is stepping down from her anchoring duties on the Today Show after 17 impactful years. In a heartfelt letter to her colleagues, Kotb expressed mixed emotions, stating, "I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one."

Kotb plans to prioritize her daughters, Haley and Hope, especially after facing health challenges with Hope. “My broadcast career has been meaningful, but now my family needs a bigger slice of my time pie,” she explained. Although she will leave her anchor role in early 2025, she intends to stay with NBC in another capacity.

Since joining Today, Kotb has made history as part of the first-ever female co-anchor duo alongside Savannah Guthrie. She also shared her journey to motherhood on air, adopting Haley in 2017 and Hope in 2019.

Recently, Kotb and her daughters moved to a suburban home, where they are excited to create a warm, cozy environment. Reflecting on her family life, she emphasized her commitment to ensuring her children feel safe and happy.

Despite her exit from the show, Kotb assured fans she would remain connected to the NBC family, stating, "Family is family, and you all will always be a part of mine."
