Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown are set to embark on an exciting adventure in Netflix's upcoming film, The Electric State. On October 17, the streaming giant unveiled the first trailer for the movie, directed by the Russo brothers, known for their work on Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Set in a retro-futuristic version of the 1990s, the film follows Brown, 20, as Michelle, an orphaned teenager navigating a world where sentient robots, once peaceful companions, are now in exile after a failed uprising. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters a mysterious robot named Cosmo, believed to be linked to her presumed-dead brother.

Determined to reunite with her sibling, Michelle embarks on a journey alongside Christopher (played by Pratt), where they encounter Keats and his robot companion Herman, voiced by Anthony Mackie. The cast also includes Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Norman, with additional voice contributions from Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Alan Tudyk for the film's robots.

Based on Simon Stålenhag's graphic novel and penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, known for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Gray Man, the film promises a mix of action and intrigue. As Michelle and Keats venture into the Exclusion Zone—a walled-off desert area where robots reside—they uncover sinister forces behind Christopher's disappearance.

The Electric State is set to premiere on Netflix on March 14, 2025, after which the Russo brothers will return to the Marvel fold for upcoming projects, including Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Meanwhile, Brown will conclude her five-season journey as Eleven in Stranger Things, which wraps up in 2025.
