A drone attack in northern Israel has left over 60 people injured, several critically, according to first responders. While there have been no immediate reports of fatalities, this incident is among the deadliest since the conflict escalated last October.
The attack reportedly targeted a Golani infantry training camp in Binyamina, near Haifa, and was claimed by Hezbollah. The militant group stated the drone strike was a retaliation for Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon that resulted in 22 deaths and numerous injuries last Thursday, as reported by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed intercepting a drone launched from Lebanon but did not provide specific details about the location. United Hatzalah rescue services reported treating over 60 wounded individuals, with injuries ranging from critical to light. Helicopters and ambulances were deployed to transport the injured to various hospitals across Israel.
Hillel Yaffe Medical Center reported receiving 36 casualties from the drone incident, with varying degrees of injuries. Other medical facilities, including Sheba Tel Hashomer Medical Center, Rambam Hospital, and Emek Medical Center, also treated additional injured individuals.
As tensions rise in the region, this attack underscores the escalating violence and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
