Armed and Dangerous Suspect in Shooting of Memphis Police Chief

A Blue Alert has been issued for a suspect linked to the serious injury of a law enforcement officer in Memphis. Authorities are actively searching for 33-year-old Seth Altman, who allegedly shot the police chief while fleeing from a burglary warrant delivery.

When police attempted to serve the warrant, Altman reportedly escaped through the back of the house and encountered the police chief, resulting in the shooting. The chief has since been transported to Lubbock for medical care and is currently in stable condition.

Altman is described as a six-foot-two white male weighing around 220 pounds, last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. He is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, do not approach; instead, contact 911 immediately.

The Texas Rangers have joined the investigation, which is being treated as an attempted capital murder case. In light of these events, Memphis ISD has postponed classes until 10 a.m. today.
