The Cleveland Browns have officially traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills, as confirmed by Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein on Tuesday. The Bills announced the trade shortly after, acquiring Cooper along with a sixth-round draft pick for 2025. In return, the Browns will receive a 2025 third-round pick and a seventh-round pick in 2026.
This trade comes just a day after the Bills secured a narrow 23-20 victory over the New York Jets. With Cooper joining the roster, Buffalo aims to bolster its receiving corps for quarterback Josh Allen, who has been relying on Khalil Shakir, the team’s leading receiver with 249 yards and two touchdowns, and rookie Keon Coleman, who has 201 yards and two touchdowns.
Currently sitting at 1-5, the Browns appear to be shifting their focus towards future talent, especially with Deshaun Watson struggling as their starting quarterback. In contrast, the Bills stand at 4-2, leading the AFC East and looking to strengthen their playoff push.
Amari Cooper has recorded 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns so far this season. This trade marks the third time Cooper has been dealt, having started his career with the Raiders as the No. 4 overall pick in 2015, followed by a midseason trade to the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, and then to the Browns in 2022.
