Last week, passengers on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Tokyo received an unexpected and inappropriate inflight experience when an explicit film aired on all screens. Due to technical difficulties, individual movie selection was unavailable, prompting the crew to choose a single film for the entire cabin. Unfortunately, they selected Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn's drama "Daddio," which contains explicit sexual content, including graphic nudity and sexual dialogue.
Passengers were taken aback as they couldn't pause or turn off the film. One Reddit user described the situation, noting that the movie featured explicit scenes that were visible to everyone on board. After about an hour of discomfort, the crew changed the screening to a more family-friendly film.
In response to the incident, Qantas issued an apology, acknowledging that the film was "clearly not suitable" for such a setting. A spokesperson stated, "We sincerely apologize to customers for this experience," and confirmed that they are reviewing the process for movie selection to prevent a recurrence.
